Esra NEWS Agency: The weekly Akhlaq session of Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli was held this week at the Azam Mosque of Qom with the presence of various group of people.
In this session Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli explained the wisdom of 123 of Nahj al-Balaghah.
His Eminence stated, “the word of His Holiness is «وَ قَالَ (علیه السلام): طُوبَى لِمَنْ ذَلَّ فِي نَفْسِهِ، وَ طَابَ كَسْبُهُ، وَ صَلَحَتْ سَرِيرَتُهُ، وَ حَسُنَتْ خَلِيقَتُهُ، وَ أَنْفَقَ الْفَضْلَ مِنْ مَالِهِ، وَ أَمْسَكَ الْفَضْلَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ، وَ عَزَلَ عَنِ النَّاسِ شَرَّهُ، وَ وَسِعَتْهُ السُّنَّةُ، وَ لَمْ يُنْسَبْ إلَى الْبِدْعَةِ» The late Seyyed Razi has stated in the margin of this words that this words also narrated from the Prophet of Islam and therefore in some versions of Nahj al-Balagha these words cannot found.”
He stated, “These few enlightening sentences are the introduction for human being. A blessed person is one who has these things. These are the designation of a leader, scientific and practical assistants, and inner experts of the soul. These enlightening words of shows that human has a series of scientific affairs and a series of practical affairs and a series of desires and unwanteds, and there is a turmoil inside the human soul that if he wants not to go astray, not to block anyone's path, not to hurt anyone, he must have an Imam; But the question is whether this Imam is human’s knowledge or human intellect?!”
His Eminence said, “Science can never undertake the leadership of human beings because even though it knows what this work is, but where and how it should be applied or when and in what place it is good to apply this science. This is for Allah or for lust, these are the job of the intellect; «و بالعقل یعتقل».”
He said, “The first stage is that they (Imams) invited us to learn and become scholars, the second stage is that they asked us to become mujtahids. the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) said, «علَينا إلْقاءُ الاُصول إلَيكُم و عليكمُ التَّفْريعُ». Which means, we state the general principles, but you must have the intellectual power to inference of the branches and reference to the principles and the guidance and growth of the principles in relation to the branches. A person should not be like a pool, such a person cannot say that he is a mujtahid, but a mujtahid is like a spring which makes fresh water. This second stage, and in the third stage, is to the identification of managers, deputies, experts and leadership for the soul.”
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, “Our Imam said: We have a series of scientific powers, such as illusion and imagination, and the like. We have a series of powers related to movement, such as will, decision, anger, and lust, and we must first know who led them. Is it led by reason or science? Is this led by dogma or determination? Are these led by animal desire or divine will? He said, first you should know your imam, do you want to live scholarly or wisely? Prophets and Saints lived scholarly, but they had expressions «بالعقل یعتقل» The knowledge should rationalize. This knowledge should kneel in front of intellect so that human does not use the knowledge unnecessarily and does not strengthen doubts.”
By stating that reason leads knowledge, he stated, “Knowledge is a good tool, but it is not a good Imam, theoretical reason is in charge of knowledge, which is the result of the school and university, and practical reason is managed by the mosque and night prayer, which is the result of the long Sajdah. Reason led a person to heaven, not science. The border between practical reason and theoretical reason is completely separate; It means that a person can know something that is 100% true and not act accordingly, because the system of knowledge, and belief is completely separate from the system of action, will and determination.”
His Eminence said, “The Prophet said the first priority is that a person should know self. One must know his imam is what learnt, discussed in seminary and university, or what he practices in night prayer, prayer, servitude, purity, crying, and moaning?! After one knows the Imam is a practical reason and his leadership is defined by the hadith «الْعَقْلُ مَا عُبِدَ بِهِ الرَّحْمَنُ وَ اكْتُسِبَ بِهِ الْجِنَان» then one would be sure that all his scientific affairs are under his practical reason, he\she would know whether to speak or be silent, where to go and how to practice knowledge; But if - God forbid- he has failed in the middle jihad and the great jihad, his leadership will be taken over by knowledge and knowledge would take him in anywhere. The late Kuleini has an introduction in the honorable book of “Kafi” that the cultural pole of a nation and Society is "intelligence", it is the intellect control the lust then they would be «مَا عُبِدَ بِهِ الرَّحْمَنُ وَ اكْتُسِبَ بِهِ الْجِنَان».
Hazrat says«طُوبَى لِمَنْ ذَلَّ فِي نَفْسِهِ». A person must be humble in front of reason and abandon false dignity in order to attain true dignity. Allah has never signed humiliation, but Allah told us to be humble in front of this Imam. Our reputation is Allah's trust, so we must be trustworthy, and man is not allowed to ruin his reputation anywhere. A believer must be humble inside himself, not humiliated!”
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said at the end, "Blessed is the one who feels humbleness within, and has good and pure deeds in his religion, just as he corrects his appearance, corrects his inwardness as well, and wish good of the people. live according to divine morals, to spend some of his wealth in the way of Allah, not to talk unnecessarily, and people are safe from his vices, because these vices would be the divine punishment, this religion is a vast religion and man do not have to remove himself from this circle and therefore he should not turn to heresy.”
